The Virtual Valentines Project is an easy, free project designed to teach students geographical awareness and cultural understanding while connecting classrooms all around the world for Valentine’s Day.  Whether your students are in kindergarten or are seniors in high school, this project will help them learn something new.

  • Level 1 will give your students the ability to create a Virtual Valentine, share with others, and see work from students around the world.
  • Level 2 is for teachers who want to give a more in depth cultural connection to their students and will involve a live virtual conference call (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet) or Flipgrid message exchange with a partner class where students will get to meet friends in a different part of the world.

There’s something for everyone on Tynker this Valentine’s Day – with our three fun coding projects (ranging from beginner to advanced coding levels), kids can code a game to find a hidden candy heart, animate a candy dispenser to spread the love, and customize a valentine with jokes and art. Theme Poems

In this online tool, elementary students can write poems based on shapes. By selecting a shape, students learn how to focus their writing on a particular topic or theme. As part of the online tool, students are prompted to brainstorm, write, and revise their poems, thus reinforcing elements of the writing process. Students can save their draft poems to revise later. The finished theme poems can also be printed and colored to display in the classroom or at home. When selecting a theme, direct your students to click on the Celebrations folder to find a heart theme.
