DESCRIPTION
Graphic design used to require fancy software and an extensive background knowledge of design concepts. Now it can be as simple as downloading an app that can remove the background of an image and superimpose the image onto nearly any background we can imagine.
Using presentation software that students already know how to use, we can introduce them to the basics of graphic design. This activity specifically works on resizing clip art and arranging layers to create realistic visual scale of the finished image.
The goal is to introduce students to digital design so that they can transfer the knowledge to design software.

What teachers said on TPT
Rated 4.9 out of 5 by 16 teachers on Teachers Pay Teachers.
“I am able to teach my students how to layer images and resize them. I like that I can edit and make them fit for my students. I added a blank page between slides so my students could make a larger version of the "master" picture. I have bought the spring, fall, and a few others.”
— Jill S., TPT review
“I have reviewed these skills with my 4th and 5th grade students so I love using this activity when making sub plans. Easy- no prep on my end. I do have instructions that are printed out for students who forget.”
— Lauren S., TPT review
“Great springtime activity for technology/computer lab! I discovered that most of my students needed a refresher in layering/ordering objects so this was the perfect activity to reinforce that skill.”
